Project A&E

Duplex Apartment, Tel Aviv
The A&E project is a duplex apartment in Tel Aviv, designed for a couple in their 50s with three daughters. The project responds to a changing stage of life and the need to balance intimacy, family life, and hospitality within an urban residential context.
The design focused on creating a generous and open living space that supports meaningful family gatherings, alongside a large, functional kitchen positioned as the heart of the home — a place of movement, interaction, and everyday use. The public areas were planned as a continuous, flowing space, encouraging connection while maintaining a sense of openness and light.
The upper level was conceived as a private domain for the couple, incorporating a system of movable partitions that allows for functional flexibility. Transparent elements enable visual openness and shared working moments, while opaque partitions provide privacy and acoustic separation when needed. This approach allows precise control over light, exposure, and sound within the space.
Material choices emphasize warmth and restraint. Flooring in warm brown tones establishes a grounded, earthy presence, while custom joinery and partition systems introduce a tactile warmth alongside acoustic performance, contributing to a calm and intimate domestic atmosphere.
The overall design maintains a careful balance between serenity and vitality. Floating elements and restrained color accents introduce depth and movement without disrupting the home’s quiet character. The result is a composed and harmonious urban residence — a home that supports daily life, hosting, and privacy, with clarity and architectural intention.
